
Arts-in-Sync provides strategic planning, learning resources, drama and theatre workshop design, drama and theatre teacher professional development, and professional liaison between the arts and education sectors. Arts-in-Sync offers artists, producers and small companies 20 years of experience in planning, developing and implementing quality arts experiences and resources for young people and educators.
As Director of Programs, Dr Meg Upton has worked with companies and cultural organisations including Playbox Theatre, Malthouse Theatre, Melbourne Theatre Company, Arena Theatre Company, Bell Shakespeare, Performing Lines, KAGE Physical Theatre, Polyglot Theatre, Tasmania Performs, Platform Youth Theatre, RealTV, Footscray Community Arts Centre/A.R.A.B, Ilbijerri Theatre Company, Arts Centre Melbourne, St Martins Youth Arts, Victorian Opera, ABC Splash, Geelong Performing Arts Centre, Currency Press and Australian Plays. Meg has generated over 100 education resources for productions and education programs with the aim of expand young people’s experiences of theatre and the arts in the theatre and in the classroom.
Arts-in-Sync also offers program evaluation of arts education programs. The organisation recognises that individual artists and the small to medium sector has limited resources for ongoing evaluation, but the same sector recognises its importance in terms of funding and acquittal. As Director of Programs, Meg has generated evaluation reports for a number of arts organisations and has a strong and enduring relationship to the education sector.
Meg has a MEd and a PhD from the University of Melbourne and has worked with the Faculty of Arts and Education at Deakin University since 2007. She lectures in Drama Education and in the Masters of Teaching, pedagogy and curriculum.
